Cartridge Dust Collectors

Scientific Dust Collectors manufactures a full line of Cartridge dust collectors to meet the needs of your specific operation. For over 28 years, SDC has provided customers with unmatched cleaning performance. This is primarily due to our superior cleaning system that employs a patented supersonic nozzle to clean the filters more effectively than any of our competitors. Cartridge dust collectors are ideally suited to capture granular shaped dusts. These are free-flowing materials that collect on the outside of the cartridge filter pleats and are easily released from the media during the cleaning cycle. Cartridge collectors are ideally suited for smaller particle dust sizes (less than 50 microns) and low grain loading levels (less than 5 grains per cubic foot). Some examples of dusts that are collected during cartridge collectors are grinding or sandblast applications, welding fumes, laser and plasma cutter fumes, graphite, pharmaceutical powders, and fine chemical powders. These dusts require minimal flexing of the media during the cleaning process; thus, cartridge collectors will work satisfactory on these products. When the dusts are difficult to handle, hygroscopic, or high temperature, a fabric filter baghouse is a better alternative for trouble free dust collection and longer filter life.

MP & MPL Collector

Scientific Dust Collectors’ (MP) Vertical Cartridge Collector and (MPL) Small Vertical Cartridge are economical cartridge units that utilize the patented supersonic nozzle cleaning system as well as a high-side inlet so that the heavier dust falls out of the air stream. These features allow the collector to operate at higher air-to-cloth ratios and provide longer filter life. In the MP Series & MPL Series, the cartridges are mounted vertically with a unique spring-loaded mechanism that applies a constant upward force to maintain a constant seal at the tube sheet. Since gasket leaks are common in cartridge collectors, this spring loaded mechanism eliminates this problem. Scientific Dust Collectors guarantees never to have a gasket leak inside our cartridge collector. With our patented cleaning system, our units operate at higher efficiencies using less media.

SL Collector

Scientific Dust Collectors’ (SL) Horizontal Cartridge Collector is designed for industrial powders, assorted metal working and spraying applications, and sub-micron dust applications. It utilizes the patented supersonic nozzle cleaning system, internal inlet air baffle, and patented spring-loaded door for filter removal using a spring-loaded handle, NO TOOLS REQUIRED! The unique and patented inlet baffle allows air to evenly disperse throughout the entire bin. It also reduces the “dead zone” area at the top of the horizontal cartridge filters. As with our other cartridge units, this design also incorporates a spring loaded door, which allows us to guarantee never to have a cartridge gasket leak inside our cartridge dust collectors. This series of cartridge dust collectors is a welded design not a bolt-together design.

SL-HR Collector

Scientific Dust Collectors (SL-HR) Horizontal High-Ratio Collector is designed to operate at double the air volume of other cartridge collectors. It utilizes the patented supersonic nozzle cleaning system, internal inlet air baffle, and patented spring-loaded door for filter removal, NO TOOLS REQUIRED! This special horizontal cartridge collector is specifically engineer to operate at higher filtration velocities. Using a carefully engineered evase and cleaning nozzle, this series is state of the art in terms of its operating capabilities. This all welded design is used on a wide variety of dusts. As with the SL series, the SL-HR also provides numerous hopper discharge accessories such as 55-gallon drums, slidegates, rotary airlocks, double dump valves and super sack discharge arrangements.

FC Collector

Scientific Dust Collectors (FC) Fume Collector is a self-contained collector designed for welding smoke, fumes, and light dust applications. The FC utilizes the patented supersonic nozzle cleaning system as well as a hinged door with our patented Pedal Actuated Cartridge Release System for filter removal, NO TOOLS REQUIRED! This special design has a double layer of internal baffles that serves as a spark trap. This FC Series design incorporates an internal fan, silencer, and motor starter panel. This unit is a “plug and play” type unit that requires very little installation.

SDT Collector

Scientific Dust Collectors (SDT) Downdraft Table is a self contained collection system that is ergonomically designed to provide a clean and safe working environment. It is ideal for grinding, polishing, sanding, buffing, and any manual finishing operations. It is a heavy duty work base table that can handle a capacity of up to 3000 lbs weight on the grating. The 200 Feet Per Minute face velocity provides excellent ventilation.

LP Collector

Scientific Dust Collectors’ Low Pressure (LP) Vertical Cartridge Collector is economically designed for low volume and low static pressure (less than 10″ SP). The LP employs the patented supersonic nozzle-based cleaning system, a generously sized access door, and filter removal using a spring-loaded handle, NO TOOLS REQUIRED! The LP Series Cartridge collectors are manufactured using 12-gauge steel, which eliminates “oil canning” and is heavier than competitor units. This series of cartridge collectors is available with top and side mounted fans. Hopper discharge alternatives are drawers, 55-gallon drums, rotary air locks, or 5-gallon pail.
